The first key is to get someone who knows SAP Retail or AFS to help you, not a firm or partner that knows SAP but specifically SAP Retail. This guide is not meant to be all inclusive but it is meant to demistify the implementation process.
We have been implementing SAP Retail and AFS for over 16 years, and we have seen many implementations. Jim McMurray and Rob Kreft were key leaders in SAP Retail for the past years, so we have been involved in almost every account. Rob Kreft was the National Vice President running SAP Retail services and Jim McMurray was the Senior Vice President running SAP Retail license. We had one goal in common: to show people what SAP could do for their company and to make them successful. When we created Zaffera, our mission did not change, but now not limited by things such as revenue recognition and others we can reach out further to help our customers.
The following is geared for customers, consultants and firms looking to implement SAP Retail successfully. It is based upon a common sense approach and compilation of what works best. Many times we get questioned on steps and what to do.
This section will cover the implementation phases in detail, answer questions about partner selections, safeguarding and who to contact in the SAP organization. There are many inaccuracies out there and our hope is this will help you make decisions in your company's best interest.
If you have questions or comments feel free to reach out.
